Master runners have their day at the 'Stache Dash

Samuel Langhorne ClemensSaturday, 14 February 2015 was a morning for the master runners at Westgate Park in Dothan, Alabama. That's when Enterprise, Alabama, master runner Dale Thomas won the Dothan Runners' 'Stache Dash 5K Trail Run in 21:15, and Midland City master runner Freda Stewart won the women's title, placing 12th overall in 27:10. 41 athletes finished the 3.1-mile cross-country run on Westgate Park's Larry and Ronna Dykes Trail.


Brooks Newell was runner-up in the race with a 21:40, while Julio Garcia took third in 22:03. Chris Fox was the second female finisher, placing 14th overall in 27:36. Diane Calhoun was third in the women's standings, 15th overall in 28:37.


The race was the Dothan Runners' Club's first ever 'Stache Dash, although it was same time of year as the club's 2014 Winter Olympics 5K Trail Run.
