Kutter and McCumber cruise at Caleb's Cause

2017 Caleb's Cause 5KAfter two years in Americus, Georgia, the Caleb's Cause 5K moved upstate to Snellville for the 13 May 2017 edition of the annual event. That Saturday morning the race started and finished at Snellville Church of Christ. Tom Kutter of Loganville, Georgia was the fastest athlete back to the church, covering the 3.1-miles in 16:24. Sophia McCumber, an eighth-grader on the cross-country team at Providence Christian Academy, took the women's title, placing sixth overall in 25:05.


Bryan O'Neal won top master runner honors in the race, finishing second overall in 17:58. Shirmel Deckard was the first woman master and sixth female finisher; Deckard finished 22nd overall in 31:48.


65 athletes finished the third annual Caleb's Cause 5K. Another 57 complete a one-mile fun run.
