The benches are in, the signs are up, and almost all of the landscaping is in place. In short, everything is just about ready for the official dedication of Martha Wellman Park, which is scheduled for 9:30 am ET on Monday, 1 June 2009, according to Henree Martin's article in the Tallahassee Democrat:
Martha Wellman Park is a Blueprint 2000 project, a Leon County park built around a stormwater retention pond constructed as part of the widening of Capital Circle Northwest between US 90 (West Tennessee Street) and Interstate 10. The park is located on the south side of West Tennessee Street between Capital Circle Northwest and Aenon Church Road, and includes a 10-foot wide asphalt trail that makes a 3870-foot circuit of the pond, suitable for a stroll, a jog, a skate, or a leisurely bicycle ride.
