On Saturday morning, 5 October 2013, Ryan Kelly and David Burnett finished one-two at the Honey Bee 5K, running the 3.1 miles in 18:39 and 19:09. It was the second year in a row that the pair had taken the first two places at the annual Hahira, Georgia, road race. Sean McConnell of Adel, Georgia, was the fastest master runner in the Honey Bee 5K, placing third overall in 19:29. Hahira's own Liam Bickerstaff was fourth in 19:31.Valdosta, Georgia, master runner Debbie Allen was the first female finisher, running 22:27 and coming in more than 300 meters ahead of the next woman. Aubrey Suddarth was the runner-up on the women's side, finishing 14th overall in 24:01. Suddarth is a freshman member of the cross country team at Mercer University and an alumna of the Lowndes High cross-country team.
134 athletes finished the race, a fixture at Hahira's annual Honey Bee Festival.
