For the seventh year in a row, the Jackson County Education Foundation invited athletes to Marianna, Florida's Citizen's Park for the annual Shining With Shamrocks 5K Glow Run. On Friday evening, 7 March 2025, John Ouzts, a senior on the Marianna High cross-country team, won the the seventh annual event, running 20:10. Kathy Walker was the first woman in the race, placing eleventh overall in 24:06.Twelve-year-old Hunter Bedini took second in 20:47. Alfonso Hernandez was third with a 21:12, Nevin Durden was the first master runner in the 5K, coming in fourth overall in 21:41.
The women's competition was quite close, with Kathy Walker just edging Jericka Glisson for first, 24:06 to 24:08. Just behind them there was an even closer battle for top woman master, with Sabrina Williams narrowly prevailing over Samantha Baswell, 24:12 to 24:13. Williams and Baswell were third and fourth in the women's standings and thirteenth and fifteenth overall.
211 athletes finished Jackson County Education Foundation's 2025 Shining With Shamrocks 5K Glow Run. Milestone Race Authority timed and scored the event.
