O'Kelley and Rosen tear it up at Tall Timbers in the Pine Run

At Tall Timbers Research Station, a forest north of Tallahassee, Florida, Chris O'Kelley won Gulf Winds Track Club's 40th annual Pine Run 20K on Saturday morning, 7 October 2017. O'Kelley's time for the 12.4-mile cross-country race was 1:20:31. Sheryl Rosen was the first woman in the race, placing eighth overall in 1:31:59.


O'Kelley finished nearly 400 meters ahead of the runner-up, Vince Molosky, a three-time winner of the Pine Run. Molosky posted a `:22:08 in the 2019 race. Dr. Geb Kiros was the first master runner in the 20K, coming in third overall in 1:26:33.


It was the fifth time as Pine Run women's champion for Sheryl Rosen, who also took the women's title in 2006, 2009, 2011, and 2013. Her 2006 win was at International Paper's Southlands Experimental Forest, the home of the Pine Run from 1977 to 2006. Since 2008, Gulf Winds Track Club has held the race at Tall Timbers.


Kat Sack took second to Rosen in the women's standings, finishing fifteenth overall in 1:38:32. Amanda Sava was the third woman and 24th overall in 1:50:09. Monica Judd was the first woman master and fourth female finisher, 26th overall in 1:50:39.


103 athletes finished Gulf Winds Track Club's 2017 Pine Run 20K at Tall Timbers.

From 1977 to 2006 the race was run at International Paper's Southlands Experimental Forest south of Bainbridge, Georgia. From 2008 to 2017 the race has been run at Tall Timbers Research Station at the north end of Leon County, Florida.
