Brandon Reyes and Jennifer McQuade take the Troopers For The Coopers 5K

Racing on the Valdosta, Georgia campus of Lowndes High, Brandon Reyes took first in the Troopers For The Coopers 5K on Saturday morning, 17 May 2025, posting a winning time of 18:18. Valdosta master runner Jennifer McQuade was the first woman in the race, placing ninth overall in 24:20.


The 5K may have been run at Lowndes High, but the winner, Brandon Reyes, is an alumnus of the Valdosta High cross-country team, having finished his senior season for the Wildcats during 2024. But the runner-up was a Lowndes High Viking--frosh River Thurston. Thurston earned second with an 18:32. Noah Howington, a sophomore on the Highland Christian cross-country team, was third in 19:51. Thomasville, Georgia's Shane Roberts was the first master runner in the race, coming in seventh overall in 22:41.


Gracie DeFelice of Hahira, Georgia took second in the women's standings and eleventh overall in 24:52. At 26:37, Valdosta's Kaylee Daugherty was the third woman and 21st overall.


127 athletes finished the 2025 Troopers For The Coopers 5K. A Course/Line, LLC, of Valdosta, Georgia timed the race and provided finish line services.
