Butler was coming off the 2018 cross-country season, his first running for Berrien County. Before that, he had raced cross-country for Berrien County Middle School. A member of that Berrien County Middle School cross-country team, seventh-grader Andrew Solomon, finished runner-up to Butler in the Superhero 5K, running 21:47. Ryan Yancey of Nashville was third in the 5K with a 26:13. Thomasville, Georgia's Allen Wooten was the first master runner in the race, placing fourth overall in 28:15.
Allison Butler, a sixth-grader on the Berrien County Middle School cross-country team, was second in the women's standings, placing seventh overall in 30:12. Valdosta master runner Delleese Collins was the third woman and eighth overall in 31:06.
23 athletes finished Nashville, Georgia's 2019 CASA Superhero 5K, while another fourteen completed a one-mile fun run. A Course/Line, LLC, of Valdosta, Georgia timed both races.
