There are some athletes who have the misfortune to be living in a city with no Saint Patrick's Day road race. That's not the case for the folks in Moultrie, Georgia. They had the second annual Saint Patty K, a five-kilometer event with a one-mile fun run, on Saturday morning, 18 March 2022, starting near Colquitt Regional Medical Center. In a showdown of two of Moultrie's own, Dr. Kent Posey edged master runner Dr. Lee McGill for first place, 21:13 to 21:16. Roxana Bergstrom of Valdosta, Georgia was the first woman in the race, placing thirteenth overall in 26:03.After the Posey-McGill duel, 15-year-old Amicah Carroll of Norman Park took third in 22:32.
A younger Posey, eleven-year-old Savannah Posey, placed second in the women's standings, coming in sixteenth overall in 27:58. The first woman master and third female finisher was Susan Hutchinson of Sylvester, Georgia, eighteenth overall in 29:11.
41 athletes finished the 5K at the 2023 Saint Patty K. The race was a benefit for the Colquitt Regional Medical Foundation. Event Technical Services, Inc., of Sylvester, Georgia timed and scored the race.
