Reynolds and Hogsed phastest at phyrst Phelps Phun Run

Cross-country season came early to Albany, Georgia, in the form of the first Walter Phelps Memorial 5K Trail Run. Bainbridge High cross-country runner Davey Reynolds won the 6 August 2011 race, traversing the trail in 20:11. Reynolds finished about 200 meters ahead of runner-up Mitchell Sinyard of Hawkinsville, at 21:00 the top master in the race. Tanzy Hogsed, a cross-country runner at Americus Southland Academy, was the fastest female on the trails, placing third overall in 22:15. Hogsed's teammate at Southland, Mary Calcutt, was the second female finisher, fourth overall at 22:58. Albany's Barbara Mixon was the first woman master, running 28:29.
