Hooray for the old guys! Master runners took eight of the first ten spots at the Possum Trot 5K on Saturday morning, 6 August 2011, part of the 42nd annual Possum Festival in Wausau, Florida. Master runner Matt Dobson of Jay, Florida ran 17:40 to take top honors in the race, finishing over a minute ahead of the runner up, Tallahassee master Michael Martinez (18:44). The first non-master was Challen Hyman, a rising senior at Panama City Arnold High School. Hyman, who won Dothan's Critter Run two weeks earlier, was third in 19:20. The next runner across the line was also a non-master as well as the first female--Hadley Miller of Panama City Beach ran 20:17 to claim the women's title. The next woman in was Panama City's Kim Allan, 20th overall in 24:10 and the first woman master in the race.
