On 25 April 2015 runners crowded onto the streets of Thomasville, Georgia, for the 38th annual Rose City Run. Just seven days later, on Saturday morning, 2 May 2015, athletes were back on the Thomasville streets for the inaugural Super Dave 5K. The Rose City is in danger of getting a reputation as a running city.Chad Follett won Thomasville's first Super Dave 5K, covering the 3.1-mile out-and-back course at Thomas University in 21:03. Sean Stewart finished runner-up in 22:48. Philip Bambach took third in 22:48.
Lori Richardson was the first female finisher, placing fourth overall in 23:43. Lindsey Landreneau was second on the women's side, coming in fifth overall in 24:01. Alex Riccardi took the third women's spot, finishing seventh overall in 24:41.
84 athletes finished the Super Dave 5K, with another 23 finishing an associated one-mile fun run. Proceeds of the race benefit the David Waldron Foundation to help families affected by brain cancer.
