It was the first win of the season for Keester, who had finished behind his teammate Graham in five previous races--the Cecil Field Summer Classic on 25 August 2023, the Florida Horse Park Invitational on 2 September 2023, the Katie Caples Invitational on 16 September 2023, the Wingfoot Classic on 22 September 2023, and the FSU Invitational on 30 September 2023. Behind the Fleming Island duo of Keester and Graham, Fort Walton Beach senior Grant Chastain took third in 16:27.
Keester and Graham couldn't win the meet for Fleming Island on their own. Another Golden Eagle broke into the top ten--senior Roman Mollicone was seventh in 16:54. Fleming Island junior Jacob Campbell was thirteenth in 17:09 and sophomore Andrew Boyer was sixteenth in 17:20, giving the boys in green-and-gold a winning score of 39 points. It was the school's first Alligator Lake title.
Oak Hall placed second in the 23-team field with 68 points; their top finisher was junior Peter Peloso (8th, 16:59). Fort Walton Beach was third with 118 points, led by Grant Chastain.

The high school girls' race was second on the program. Mackenzie Klein's 19:15 earned the Oak Hall senior her first win of the season and put her across the finish line more than 60 meters ahead of the next runner, Madison Patchan. Patchan, a Tocoi Creek senior, grabbed the runner-up spot with a 19:30. Branford frosh Anna Moore took third in 19:40, just ahead of Fort Walton Beach junior Belicia O'Grady, fourth in 19:43.
Klein was only the first of three Oak Hall runners in the top ten; the other two were frosh-year athletes Valeria Beaver (9th, 20:00) and Lola Murfee (10th, 20:17). Sophomore Estella Collante (23rd, 20:45) and senior Eli Eisner (24th, 20:52) gave Oak Hall five scorers under 21:00, a score of 67 points, and the Alligator Lake high school girls' title. It was the third time in seven years that an Oak Hall girls' team had won the meet.
