Harriers Adam Mastrobuono and Katie LaCroix lead a Blazer sweep of the Blazin' Love 5K

At Valdosta, Georgia's eighth annual Blazin' Love 5K, Valdosta State University cross-country runner Adam Mastrobuono threw down at 15:50 to win for the second year in a row. Two VSU juniors vied to be the first woman across the finish line, with Katherine LaCroix coming in just inches ahead of Caitlyn Koske. The two women were eleventh and twelfth overall, both clocked in 19:56.


Parker Jackson, new to the Valdosta State team, took second to Mastrobuono in 16:23. Ethan Burnett, a sophomore cross-country runner at Valwood School, placed third in 16:50. Valdosta High cross-country coach Ryan Kelly was the first master runner in the race, outkicking Chad Northcutt of Quitman for ninth, both runners going 19:19.


Behind LaCroix and Koske's duel for the women's title, Ella Burnett--a senior on the Valwood cross-country team--went 20:21 for third in the women's standings, placing fourteenth overall. Laura Solomon of Nashville, Georgia was the first woman master in the Blazin' Love 5K, seventh in the women's division and 25th overall in 24:42.


76 athletes finished the 2024 Blazin' Love 5K. A Course/Line, LLC, of Valdosta timed the race and provided finish line services. Proceeds of the race benefit the Valdosta State University Blazer cross-country teams.
