Waddell and Harrell trounce the trail runners at Bainbridge College

Bainbridge College should really have a cross-country team.

That's the only conclusion you could reach after seeing course for the Bainbridge College Run For Cancer 5K on 8 May 2011. The runners looped the campus, taking in fields, sand, trails, and woods. The impression was that there was plenty more out there where a cross-country team could train or hold meets.

Greg Waddell was the fastest of the runners out taking advantage of the trails on that Sunday afternoon, leading the field around the course in 19:29. Phillip Wilbourn of Blakely was runner-up at 22:22, and Bainbridge runner Gary Cato was third overall and second master runer at 23:24. After running together the whole race, the Harrell sisters sprinted the last 50 meters dueling for the top female spot; Rachel came out slightly ahead of Perra, both runners posting a 25:32. Proceeds from the inaugural event became part of the contribution of the Bainbridge College Relay For Life team.
