Tallahassee distance running icon Jessie Close ran 16:53 to win the fourth annual Joyce's Jog 5K in Donalsonville, Georgia on Saturday, 16 October 2010. Close, a two-time winner of the Joyce's Jog, was also the fastest master in the race. Stephen Robbins of Cairo was the runner-up, finishing about half a kilometer back in 19:05. The top woman in the race was defending champion Debbie Wittmer, a master runner from Blakely, Georgia. Wittmer placed fifth overall in 22:14, the fastest time ever by a woman at the Joyce's Jog. Misti Middleton of Colquitt, Georgia was the second woman across the finish line, running 25:26 for ninth overall. 59 athletes finished the race.The Joyce's Jog is conducted as a benefit for breast cancer research in the memory of Joyce Payne Henley. Since it was established in 2007 the race has always been held in conjunction with the Donalsonville - Seminole County Harvest Festival.
