Patron and Diamond high on the hog in Live Oak

There are 5K road races at festivals of every description. Because there are quite a few barbecue festivals, there are quite a few barbecue festival runs. Bainbridge, Georgia is having one on 10 August 2013, the inaugural Smoke Under The Oaks 5K. In Panama City, Florida the second annual Wild Hog Jog Five Mile (run in conjunction with Grills Gone Wild) is slated for 23 November 2013. And on Saturday morning, 27 July 2013, Live Oak, Florida held their most recent event in the barbecue running circuit, the second annual Hog Jog 5K.


Madison, Florida master runner Rob Patron won the 3.1-mile race, coming in at 21:45. Bill Sanders of Lake City took the runner-up spot, running 23:01. The next runner in was the first female finisher, Elisabeth Diamond of Bell, Florida. Bell's time was 23:27. 64 runners finished the 2013 Hog Jog 5K.
