It was a Capital City Runners sweep at Deerlake United Methodist Church's second annual Run Around The Lakes 5K on Saturday morning, 13 September 2014. CCR's Gary Galvez ran the 3.1 miles around Tallahassee's Killearn Lakes neighborhood in 20:43, winning the second annual race. Less than three minutes later, CCR's Sarah White crossed the finish line in 23:35, placing third overall and taking top woman honors.Between Galvez and White, Maclay School frosh cross-country runner Adam Dawoud finished runner-up in 21:45.
On the master runners' side, Tom Krick was the fastest male master,coming in seventh overall in 25:09. Jennifer Morrison was the first female master, finishing fourth in the women's standings and 14th overall in 27:02.
90 athletes finished the race, a benefit for the local and overseas missions of Deer Lake UMC. Timing and finish line services were provided by the Gulf Winds Track Club of Tallahassee
