One nice thing about running on a track is that there aren't any turns to miss. Also, as long as you run an even number of laps, you finish right back where you started. Those advantages of track running are incorporated into the course for the Dothan Half Marathon, which takes runners on a lap around the perimeter of Dothan, Alabama, all on the 61-year-old Ross Clark Circle. At the second annual Dothan Half on Saturday morning, 26 October 2019, the first athlete to finish that lap was Colin Fiorentino of Daleville, Alabama. Fiorentino covered the 13.1 miles in 1:27:43, finished just ahead of Dothan's Jason Teitloff, the runner-up in 1:27:55. Carrie Blanton of Montgomery, Alabama was the first woman in the race, coming in third overall in 1:33:35.It was Fiorentino's first time racing the Dothan Half, but Teitloff had run the event in 2018, placing third in the inaugural race with a 1:27:14. Montgomery's Jeff McIntyre, another newcomer to the Dothan Half, took third in the men's standings of the 2019 race, placing fourth overall in 1:34:13. Scott Bowers of Dothan was the fastest master runner in the half-marathon for the second year in a row. Running 1:35:28, Bowers was the fifth male finisher and sixth overall in 1:35:28.
Anna Haberzettl of Dothan was the first woman master in the race, finishing runner-up to Blanton in the women's standings and eighteenth overall in 1:49:34. Troy, Alabama's Elena D'Argenio was the third woman and 25th overall in 1:52:20.
174 athletes finished the 2019 Dothan Half-Marathon, and another 124 completed the associated 5K run. Race Krewe timed the race and tabulated the results.
