Nick Rosatti and Laura Solomon burned the competition at the Blazin' Love 5K

Close finishes and international competition aren't staples of road racing in Valdosta, Georgia. Nevertheless, you could see both on Saturday morning, 8 February 2025, at the ninth annual Blazin' Love 5K, where Valdosta's Nick Rosatti edged Oscar Lopez Pech of Mexico City for the win, 17:49 to 17:51. Nashville, Georgia master runner Laura Solomon was the first woman in the race, placing 24th overall in 24:31.


Behind the duelling Rosatti and Lopez Pech, Gary Rowan of Adel, Georgia took third with an 18:13. Lake Park, Georgia's Ryan Kelly was the first master runner in the race, coming in seventh overall in 19:59.


At 25:22, Tia O'Leary of Adel was the women's runner-up and 25th overall. Valdosta athlete Sarah Hamblin took third in the women's standings, going 25:39 for 26th overall.


79 athletes finished the 2025 Blazin' Love 5K. A Course/Line, LLC, of Valdosta timed the race and provided finish line services. Proceeds of the race benefit the Valdosta State University Blazer cross-country teams.
