Leaving his nearest challenger almost half a kilometer behind, master runner David Shearon won the Mardi Gras 5K in Panama City Beach on Saturday morning, 1 March 2014. Dan Meraw was runner-up in 20:06, with Adam Lewis third in 20:26. Mark McCarra finished fourth in 21:22.Amy Mann captured the women's title in the 3.1-mile race, placing fifth overall in 21:32. Katie Carroll was second in the women's standings, ninth overall in 24:47. Debbie Chitwood was the third woman and first woman master, coming in 11th overall in 25:03.
