Following a one-mile fun run, the 5K started a few minutes after 8:30 AM. Trent Parsons set the early pace, tailed closely by Noah Bullock. Parsons, a seventh-grader on the Montford Middle School cross-country squad, had raced several times at ARPXC during the 2020 and 2021 seasons. Those middle school races had been three kilometers, though, and it was during the third kilometer of the Wolf Dash that Bullock took the lead. Bullock spent the rest of the race opening a gap, going on to win by just over 50 meters in 20:46. Parsons took second in 20:59. Dominique Farmer of Tallahassee was third in 20:42. Kevin Howald of Melbourne, Florida was the first master runner in the Wolf Dash, placing fourth overall in 24:48.
Tallahassee master runner Charlene Batcheller was the first woman in the race, coming in tenth overall in 30:23. Another Tallahassee master runner, Diana Farr, was second in the women's standings and twelfth overall in 31:33. Candy Walker of Tallahassee was the third female finisher and thirteenth overall in 31:37.
