In Valdosta, Georgia from 2014 to 2017, the Georgia Military College Valdosta 5K was contested each year on the last Saturday of June. The fifth annual GMC Valdosta 5K, though, found a new home on the third Saturday in September--the race had moved from early summer to late summer. So on Saturday morning, 15 September 2018, Valdosta's
Brandon Vigil ran 18:49 to win the GMC Valdosta 5K by more than 200 meters.
Jacinta Howell of Valdosta was the top woman in the race, placing twelfth overall in 26:43.
Lake Park, Georgia's
Ryan Kelly finished runner-up to Vigil in 19:39. Kelly, the Valdosta High cross-country coach, had won the first GMC Valdosta 5K in 2014. Daniel Carver of Jacksonville, Florida was third in 20:01 and recent Valdosta High graduate Deshon Taylor was fourth in 20:29. Jim O'Connor of Hahira, Georgia was the first master runner in the race, placing fifth overall in 22:34.
Gina Purvis edged
Pollyanna Bass of Pavo, Georgia for the first woman master spot, 26:58 to 27:01. Purvis and Bass were the second and third female finishers, coming in fifteenth and sixteenth overall.
48 athletes finished the 2018 Georgia Military College Valdosta 5K.
A Course/Line, LLC, of Valdosta timed the race and provided finish line services.

I don't know if Moody Air Force Base, Georgia has an annual road race, but over the years they've had quite a variety of one-off running events. Moody has hosted a Warrior 5K, a Summer Solstice 5K, a Turkey Trot 5K, a Spring Run 5K, an April Fools 5K, a Get Active & Get Educated 5K, a Trick Or Treat 5K, a Freedom 5K, an Air Force Birthday 5K, a Labor Day 5K, a Presidents' Day 5K, a Scary Pumpkin 5K, an End Of Summer 5K, a Ring In The New Year 5K, a Veterans' Day 5K, and a Firecracker 5K among others. And early on Thursday morning, 14 February 2019, the Love 'Em Or Leave 'Em 5K came to Moody.
