There were 83 in that group of runners on 19 November 2011, led by Tallahassee master runner Joel Piotrowski. Piotrowski crossed the finish line of the 3.1-mile race in 18:00, just a step or two ahead of the 18:03 posted by runner-up Hunter Scott of the Lincoln High School cross-country team. Cole Tessier, the defending champion in the race, was third in 19:03.
Eleven-year-old Grace Jackson, a middle-school cross-country runner at Cornerstone Learning Community, was the first female finisher in the 5K, placing 17th overall in 23:27. A few seconds back in 23:33, Sandra Canada was the second woman finisher and first woman master, taking 18th overall.

ReplyDeleteYou should have seen it before they paved the southern two miles of Old Centerville! The clay roads are disappearing, along with many of the landmarks that contributed to their character.
