Kelly and Smoot are the fastest racers at Racing With Rotary

27 athletes came to McKey Park in Valdosta, Georgia, on Saturday morning, 2 May 2015 for the seventh annual running of the Racing With Rotary 5K. It was just the second year that the race had started and finished at the park. Ryan Kelly, who had finished second in 2014 when Racing With Rotary moved to the McKey Park course, won the 2015 race in 18:01. Rick Mazurkiewicz repeated as top master, finishing second overall in 19:35.


Valdosta master runner Alice Smoot won the women's title, finishing third overall in 21:27. It was Smoot's third Racing With Rotary win; her previous victories had been in 2010 and 2011 on the hilly Kinderlou Forest course. Ali Thornhill of Valdosta was the women's runner-up, placing fifth overall in 21:45.


Timing and finish line services for the 2015 Racing With Rotary 5K were provided by A Course/Line, LLC, of Valdosta, Georgia.

The 2009 Racing With Rotary 5K was staged on the VSU campus. The 2010-2013 races were run in Kinderlou Forest. The 2014-2015 races were run from McKey Park.
