Summertime is Butzin's and Will's time

2016 was the first year of Quitman, Georgia's Four Seasons four-mile races. Quitman master runner David Monds won the winter race and the spring race, the first two events in the series. Seasons change, though, and spring gave way to summer. And at the Four Seasons Summer Four Mile on Saturday morning, 6 August 2016, Valdosta, Georgia's Dan Butzin unseated Monds, winning the race in 24:57. Lauren Will of Tallahassee, Florida was the women's champion, placing sixth overall in 34:32.


Butzin finished the four-mile race nearly half a mile ahead of the next runner. Monds was the fastest master runner in the race, finishing second overall in 28:22. Valdosta master runner Reginaldo Zandonade placed third overall in 32:04.


Pavo, Georgia athlete Polyanna Bass was the top woman master and second female finisher, placing seventh overall in 35:23. Valdosta master runner Lisa Graves was third in the women's standings and ninth overall in 38:22. Graves took the women's title at the first Four Seasons run, the Winter Four Mile on 27 February 2016.


One more season remains in 2016 and one event is left in Quitman's 2016 Four Seasons race series, the fall four mile on 19 November 2016.


27 athletes finished the Four Seasons Summer Four Mile. A Course/Line, LLC, of Valdosta, Georgia timed the race and provided finish line services.
