On Saturday morning, 24 September 2016, on the streets of Tallahassee, Florida's Southwood community, master runner Mike Peymann cruised 3.1 miles in 18:25, winning the third annual Saint Jude 5K. Bailey Fohr was the women's champ, placing twentieth overall in 26:49. Fohr is a Florida State University student and an alumna of the Ravenwood High cross-country team in Brentwood, Tennessee. 110 athletes finished the race.Trailing Peymann by just under 400 meters, Wakulla High cross-country alumnus Evan Guarino finished runner-up in 19:54. Andrew Rakestraw, a junior on the Florida State University School cross-country squad, placed third in 20:52.
Thirteen-year-old Michelle Paz was second in the women's standings, placing 25th overall in 27:24. Allison Gordon was the third woman and 27th overall, running 27:48.
Proceeds of the race benefit the cancer research of Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital.
