There were only three Florida athletes at Valdosta, Georgia's Super Dad 5K on Saturday morning, 30 July 2022, but they were the three fastest. Derek Morgan of Davie, Florida won the third annual race, running the 3.1 miles in 17:13. This put him just three seconds ahead of the runner-up, Tallahassee, Florida master runner Leonardo Canete. Behind them, Alice Henley of Fort Lauderdale, Florida took third overall in 17:58, winning the women's title.Originally scheduled for the day before Father's Day, foul weather forced the race to be rescheduled. The morning of the make-up day, there was no sign of storms when the runners set out from the Georgia Beer Company building, racing on a new out-and-back course. Morgan was the first to finish the new route, christening it with a winning 17:13. Canete was right behind in 17:16, the fastest five kilometers by a master runner in the history of the Super Dad race. Valdosta's Chris Keegan was the first hometown finisher, fourth overall and third in the men's standings with a 19:04.
Alice Henley's 17:58 put her well under the women's event record, the 23:53 run by Tracey Cole in 2021's inaugural Super Dad 5K. Angie Cipriani, an alum of the Valdosta State Unviersity cross-country team, was also under the old mark, running 19:28 to place second in the women's division and fifth overall. Julie Taylor of Adel, Georgia was the third woman and thirteenth overall in 25:12. Kim Souther was the first woman master, the twelfth female finisher and 35th overall in 41:36.
48 athletes finished the 2022 Super Dad 5K. A Course/Line, LLC, of Valdosta measured the course, timed the race, and provided finish line services.
