Dylan Dixon and Juana Santos dominate in Douglas at the Heart-to-Heart 5K

For its 27th annual Heart-to-Heart Run, Coffee Regional Medical Center made some changes. The 10K was dropped from the program and the event was moved from the trails of General Coffee State Park back to the streets of Douglas, Georgia. As ever, though, there was a Heart-to-Heart 5K, and on Saturday morning, 15 February 2025, Dylan Dixon won that race by almost 800 meters, running 16:38. Juana Santos was the first woman in the race, placing ninth overall in 23:43.


Dixon had a previous Heart-to-Heart win; he had won the Heart-to-Heart 10K in 2022 when he was still a cross-country runner at Bacon County High. Since then, Dixon had gone on to run for South Georgia State College. At the time of the 2025 Heart-to-Heart, he was on the roster of the men's cross-country squad at Georgia College, where he was studying computer science.


The first master runner in the 5K was Miguel Rivas, who finished second overall in 20:45. Master runner Heriberto Luga took third overall in 20:52.


Abbie Humphries was runner-up on the women's side, coming in fourteenth overall in 26:00. Stephanie Deas was the first woman master and third female finisher, sixteenth overall in 26:17. Deas had been the women's champ of the Heart-to-Heart 10K in 2023.


82 athletes finished the 2025 Heart-to-Heart 5K. Milestone Race Authority timed and scored the event.
