Nick Rosatti and Pollyanna Bass collect Turkey Day wins in Valdosta

On the streets of Valdosta, Georgia, Nick Rosatti outkicked Craig Swain 17:20.0 to 17:20.4 to win Valdosta's eleventh annual Turkey Trot 5K. Pavo, Georgia master runner Pollyanna Bass was the first woman in the Thursday morning, 28 November 2019, race, placing fourteenth overall in 22:02.


Rosatti, a Hahira, Georgia native, races for the Valdosta State University Blazer men's cross-country team. Swain competes for the Mountain View High cross-country team in Stafford, Virginia. Jadon Long finished third behind Rosatti and Swain in 18:24. Long is an alumnus of the Lowndes High cross-country team, the hosts of the Turkey Trot. Mike Mason of Valdosta was the fastest master runner in the 5K, placing eleventh overall in 20:56.


Behind Pollyanna Bass, Valdosta's Tracie Ferris edged Tracey Cole of Pinetta, Florida for the runner-up spot in the women's standing, 22:20.7 to 22:21.1. Ferris and Cole were sixteenth and seventeenth overall. Jordan Green, a junior on the Valwood High cross-country team, was the fourth female finisher and eighteenth overall in 22:36.


162 athletes finished Lowndes High Cross-Country's 2019 Turkey Trot 5K.
