Graceville is in Northwest Florida, the state's panhandle. It's not far enough east to be on US 231, the great north-south corridor going to Panama City's beaches. It's not nar enough south to be on US 90, the great east-west corridor connecting Jacksonville, Tallahassee, and Pensacola. For four decades, though, the town has been the host of the yearly Graceville Harvest Festival. Starting in 2022, that Harvest Festival included a road race, the Harvest Hustle 5K. The second annual Harvest Hustle was contested on Saturday morning, 21 October 2022, and Lamar Sowell won the race. An alum of the Chipley High cross-country team, Sowell posted a winning time of 18:18, finishing with a lead of nearly half a kilometer. Emma Whitaker, a junior at Holmes County High, took first in the women's standings, placing fifth overall in 23:36.Joe Holliday was the first master runner in the 5K, coming in second overall in 23:33. Nicholas Reynolds was third in 22:47, and master runner Dale Thomas was fourth in 23:29.
Second in the women's division went to another high school junior, Graceville High's Brianna Adams. Adams was eighth overall in 26:01. Lori Barton took third in the women's standings and ninth overall in 26:53. Nicole Goble was the first woman master and fourth female finisher, eleventh overall in 27:19.
33 athletes finished Graceville's 2023 Harvest Hustle 5K. Milestone Racing Authority chip-timed the race.
