At the finish line, only fifty meters separated the two top women in the field--nearly a dead heat in the marathon world. Dacula, Georgia, master runner Anita Fuller came out on top in that duel, though, defeating Kay Evans of Chocowinity, North Carolina, 3:30:55 to 3:31:11.
176 athletes earned a medal featuring the SR-71 Blackbird for finishing the marathon.

Elmore won the 2015 Half Marathon, posting a 1:17:22--considerably faster than his first two attempts. More than half a kilometer behind Elmore, Atlanta master runner Victor Breedveld edged Matt Triick of Macon 1:19:28 to 1:19:31 to take second.
Mercer University distance runner Jordan Hester took the women's title in the half marathon, placing 21st overall in 1:33:48. Hester finished the race a comfortable 160 meters ahead of the next woman, Lindsey Amerson of Atlanta. Forsyth, Georgia, athlete Amy Boyer was third in the women's standings and the first woman master; Boyer placed 29th overall in 1:35:59.
397 athletes finished the half marathon. Instead of the SR-71 Blackbird medal presented to the marathoners, the half-marathon finishers earned a medal depicting the F-15 Eagle.

Alan Black has a long history with the Museum of Aviation Half Marathon. The Hillsboro, Georgia, master runner won the 13.1-mile race in 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2013. In 2015, though, he stepped down to the 5K, winning the Museum of Aviation's shortest race in 17:08. Atlanta master runner Amy Becker was the top woman in the 5K, finishing 16th overall in 21:43.
The 356 athletes who finished the 5K didn't get either a Blackbird medal or an Eagle medal, but they did get the same commemorative T-shirt as the entries in the marathon and half-marathon. For anyone who covets a medal, there's plenty of time to train for the longer events at the 20th annual Museum of Aviation Foundation races in January of 2016.
