The Florida A & M University Athletic Department has released the 2017 schedule for the Rattler cross-country teams.The Rattlers open the season at home, hosting the ninth annual Bobby Lang Invitational right on the Florida A & M campus, Saturday morning, 2 September 2017. That's the first of two events where FAMU's harriers will race in Tallahassee; the Rattlers are also entered in the Florida State University Invitational at Apalachee Regional Park on Friday morning, 6 October 2017.
Florida A & M's first out-of-town competition of the season is the second annual Florida Horse Park Invitational in Ocala, Florida on Friday, 8 September 2017. After that, the Rattlers revisit three meets they traveled to during the 2016 season--the University of North Florida Invitational in Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday, 9 September 2017; the University of Florida's Mountain Dew Invitational in Gainesville, Florida on Saturday, 23 September 2017; and the Berry College Invitational near Rome, Georgia on Saturday, 14 October 2017.
Post-season championships follow the Berry Invitational. The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Cross-Country Championships are in Smyrna, Delaware on Saturday, 28 October 2017. The Lady Rattlers won their fifth-straight conference title at the MEAC meet in 2016, led by the first-place finish of Florida A & M's Judith Kibi. The following month Florida A & M travels to Tuscaloosa where the University of Alabama will host the NCAA-D1 South Region Cross-Country Championships on Friday, 10 November 2017. At stake will be a berth in the NCAA-D1 National Cross-Country Championships in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, 18 November 2017.
