Valdosta State University Blazers 2017 Cross-Country Schedule

Valdosta State University has released the Blazers' 2017 cross-country schedule.

Valdosta State has been racing on the trails for at least half a century. As Valdosta State College, the school became a charter member of the Georgia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in 1958. When the GIAC held its first cross-country championship in 1961, Valdosta State was there. In 1965 the VSC team won the school's first conference title in cross-country. The program hit a high-water mark in 1978 when VSC's men's team placed third in the NCAA-D2 Cross-Country Championships. Since 2015 Blazer Head Coach Todd Smoot has led the program.

Most of the Blazers' 2017 campaign is on the road. However, the season opener is at home on 1 September 2017, and another meet--the FSU Invitational on 6 October 2017--is just down the road in Tallahassee.

Here's the slate of races that 2017 has in store for the Blazers.
