In two years of racing in Florida, Margaret Bartlow's winning 18:43 was her first sub-19:00 effort on the Apalachee Regional Park course, the State Championship venue since 2012. The runner-up, Wakulla junior Isabella Laughton, also ran her best time ever at ARPXC, going 19:37. South Walton frosh Scarlett Griffin, seeing the ARPXC 5K course for only the second time, placed third in 19:49.
In addition to Laughton, the Wakulla girls also had senior Taylor Pfeifer in the top ten; Pfeifer was ninth in 21:18. Florida State University School also put two runners in the top ten--Seminole frosh Leah Boutwell was ninth in 21:23; Seminole senior Leah Keller was tenth in 21:34. But the Wakulla girls finished their scoring with senior Analecia Ferrell eleventh in 21:37, junior Lana Hawkins sixteenth in 22:00, and junior Danielle Lewis twentieth in 23:05. That gave the War Eagles a winning 57 points, just ahead of the 61 scored by runner-up Florida State.
