Tallahassee, Florida master runner Leonardo Canete ran two half marathons in seven days and won them both. The second 13.1-mile race was the third annual ArtFest Half Marathon in Moultrie, Georgia, where Canete posted a winning 1:19:19. Jazz Garmon of Tifton, Georgia was the first woman in the race, placing fifth overall in 1:36:48.A week before ArtFest, Canete had raced at the Boston, Georgia's 43rd annual Mini Marathon on 28 October 2023, winning the race in 1:18:15. Brandon Krout of Pontiac, Michigan finished second to Canete in the Moultrie race, running 1:21:11. Michael Strickland, a Moultrie master runner, took third in 1:35:04.
Georgina Hernandez placed runner-up to Jazz Garmon in the women's standings, coming in eleventh overall in 154:41. Moultrie's April Mathis was the first woman master and third female finisher, twelfth overall in 1:55:42.
25 athletes finished Moultrie's 2023 ArtFest Half Marathon.
