Dickieson, Adriani leaders of the pack at Run For Rover

600 meters is a lap and a half around your high school track. Justin Dickieson won the 19th annual Run For Rover 5K by more than 600 meters, beating Alex Carico 16:57 to 19:32 in the Thomasville, Georgia road race on Saturday morning, 13 November 2010. Nine days earlier, Dickieson had finished runner-up in the FSECC 5K in Tallahassee. Carico, a cross-country runner at Brookwood School, placed ninth in the GISA state cross-country championships on 30 October 2010. Finishing just a second behind Alex, John Carico (3rd, 19:33) was the top master in the race. Marty Sanders was the second male master, placing fourth overall in 20:50. First woman honors went to Micah Adriani, who ran 20:55 to place fifth overall. The second woman across the line was Molly Rodriquez (6th, 21:27), with the third woman's spot going to Leigh Stauffer (10th, 23:33), a Brookwood cross-country runner who was 13th in the GISA girl's state meet. The fourth woman in and top woman master was Melissa Bruhn, who ran 23:57 for 12th.

A fixture on the Thomasville running scene, the Run For Rover 5K is a benefit for the Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society. The race is run on the south side of Thomasville near Thomas University on a USATF certified course (#GA09039WC). Nearly 100 runners finished the 2010 race.
