Just seven days after winning Valdosta's
Sweetheart 5K, the Masked Avenger beat over 70 athletes to the finish line of the Hospice Half Marathon, running 85:36 for the 13.1 miles. The race took place on Saturday morning, 19 February 2011, south of Valdosta in the rolling countryside around Dasher. Two and a half minutes after the Avenger's finish, runner-up and top master Scot Gardner of Naylor, Georgia crossed the line in 88:10. Hahira's Brandi Faircloth was the first female finisher, placing eighth overall in 1:43:03, nearly half a mile ahead of the next woman, Faircloth's Hahira training partner Jared Komatz (10th, 1:46:42). Karen Wilson of Dothan, Alabama was the first woman master, finishing 16th overall in 1:52:39.
The first-time event raised money for the
