In Tallahassee, Florida Scott Davis went 18:23 for five kilometers on the Florida State University campus, winning the inaugural Energy Run 5K by over 200 meters. Sadie Textor was the first woman in the race, placing eighth overall in 24:56. 35 athletes finished the 3.1-mile event, hosted by Re-Think Energy Florida on Saturday morning, 12 November 2016. Miles and Minutes, LLC, of Tallahassee chip-timed the race.Tallahassee master runner Michael Martinez was the first master runner in the race, finishing as the overall runner-up in 19:12. Dalton Langford took third in 20:09.
Sophia Fonseca was second in the women's standings and tenth overall in 20:27. Angela Newell was the first woman master and third female finisher, placing twelfth overall in 28:58.
