Voelkel and George earn top grades at the School House Run

The School House Run, contested on Memorial Day Morning, 29 May 2017, was 8000 meters long. Putting nearly 500 of those meters between himself and the next runner, Indiana native Kory Voelkel won the race in 32:13. Andrea George captured the women's crown, placing eighth overall in 36:53. 75 athletes finished the not-quite-five-mile race through Conservation Park in Panama City Beach, Florida.


Stephen Beaupre was the first master runner in the School House Run, coming in second overall in 34:11. Matthew Kidd was third in 34:21 and Andrew Connell fourth in 34:50.


Eleven-year-old Rory Claussen was second in the women's standings and eleventh overall in 37:54. Amee Rudolph was the third woman and eighteenth overall in 39:39, Evelyn Adams the fourth woman and twentieth overall in 41:10. Eve Phillips was the top woman master and fifth female finisher, 24th overall in 42:02.


All proceed of the race went to benefit the Nyakadando Primary School Clean-Water Project in Uganda, Africa. The school is trying to raise funds to build a well.
