The Bay County Bar Association held their first Race Judicata 5K in Panama City, Florida in 1986. Since then, the race was run each year, acquiring USATF course certification in 1992 and lasting long enough for that certification to expire while the race still endured. The Race Judicata 5K was still going strong on Saturday morning, 6 May 2017, when once again the race started from the Bay County Courthouse. Adrian Alford won the 32nd annual event, covering the 3.1-mile course in 18:36. Eleven-year-old Rory Claussen took the women's title, coming in eighth overall in 21:51.It was a tight race up front. Adrian Alford, the winner, finished just six seconds ahead of the runner-up, Marcus Jones, who ran 18:42. Close behind Jones at 18:46, Romaine Lewis took third, the top master runner in the race.
Lynne Carlson was the first woman master and second female finisher, nineteenth overall in 24:20. Kaci Bradford was third in the women's standings and twentieth overall in 24:30.
64 athletes finished the 32nd annual Bay County Race Judicata 5K. The race was sponsored by the Bay County Bar Association and the Panhandle Runners and Triathletes Club, with net proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity of Bay County, Florida.
