Kyle Litteral, an alumnus of the Dracut (Massachusetts) High cross-country team, took second in the half marathon, running 1:31:39. Evan Pugh was third in 1:32:18, and Northview High frosh cross-country runner Alan Flores was fourth in 1:38:12. Romy Requijo was the first master runner in the race and the sixth male finisher, placing seventh overall in 1:46:38.
Karen Wilson was the first woman master and runner-up in the women's standings, finishing tenth overall in 1:52:02. Libby Mills was the third female finisher and eleventh overall in 1:53:56.
46 athletes finished the 2017 Running Highland Oaks Half Marathon. Solid Rock Race Timing of Rogersville, Alabama timed the first-year race. Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity was the charity focus of the event.
