Fowler and Wardley lead at the Superhero 5K

During a year in South Carolina I learned that the Lowcountry of that state is very much like the Panhandle of Florida. So I imagine that USAF Sergeant Cubby Fowler, a Lowcountry native, felt right at home in Lynn Haven, Florida on Saturday morning, 17 June 2017. Fowler certainly felt comfortable enough to win the Emerald Coast Junior Women's Club's Superhero 5K by 600 meters, running 20:02. At 22:47 Jamie Wardley was the top woman and overall runner-up.

Joel Jason was second in the men's standings and third overall in 23:01. Warren Clifton was the first master runner in the race and the third male finisher, fourth overall in 23:10. Master runner Scott Bennette was the fourth man and fifth overall in 23:19.

Kim Allan was the first woman master and second female finisher, placing tenth overall in 25:24. Master runner Eve Phillips was third in the women's standings and thirteenth overall in 26:39.

103 athletes finished the Emerald Coast Junior Women's Club 2017 Superhero 5K.
