In 2012 the Friends of Seminole State Park held the first of their annual Tour of Lights Festivals. After five years the Festival in the Seminole County, Georgia park includes the tour of the Christmas lights decorating the park, a visit from Santa Claus, food and craft vendors, and a parade of golf carts festooned with holiday lights. In 2013 the Frosty 5K joined the festival, and fourth annual running of that race was held in the park on Saturday evening, 3 December 2016.The Seminole County High cross-country team put on an exhibition at the 2016 Frosty 5K, taking the first four places. Indian senior Lane Odom led the group, winning the race in 18:44. Odom had also won the 5K in 2014, but dipped to fifth place in 2015. Sophomore Aubrey Johnson took second in 20:31, frosh Garret Taylor was third in 21:05, and sophomore Zayne Widner placed fourth in 22:35.
Master runner Stephanie Odom took the women's title, finishing tenth overall in 25:59. Katrice Carter was second in the women's standings and thirteenth overall in 27:57. Master runner Amanda Moulton was the third female finisher, coming in fourteenth overall in 28:08.
50 athletes finished the Friends of Seminole State Park's 2016 Frosty 5K.
