It's a season that seemed like it might never begin. Now it seems like it may never end. August and September meets in Apalachee Regional Park were canceled or postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, because the NCAA has rescheduled the 2020 Division 1 Cross-Country Championship for March 2021, the season has been extended. FSU will host two large late-winter/early-spring meets at ARPXC, one in February and one in March. It's like cross-country is becomong a year-round sport. Not that I'd complain. Bring it!

It's not all good news. Leon County Parks are still closed to community racing, so you won't see either the Trash Dash 5K or the Tannenbaum Trail 6K out at ARPXC in 2020. But there's still a full schedule of racing at ARPXC. Not bad for a year where there could very well have been no racing at all. And by the end of the season, the improvements to the venue should be in place--the circular drive, the operations building, the new stage, and the finish line arch. And plumbing. There will actually be water in that part of park; piped-in water that you can drink.
