Ohio Northern University distance man Michael Potter visited Tallahassee long enough to make number twelve on the list with his 17:00 winning time at the Firecracker 5K. Chiles High alum Tyson Murray was right behind Potter in the Firecracker 5K at 17:01; now Murray is right behind Potter on the performance list at number 13. Two other 2015 Chiles graduates also made the list with their runs at the Firecracker. Avery Bartlett joined a three-way tie for 17th at 17:11, and Blaine Thomas ran 17:34 which ranks 25th.
Swift Creek Middle School cross country runner Alyson Churchill was already on the list before she was the first female finisher at the Firecracker 5K, but her 19:23 winning time moves her into a tie for tenth. Anna Busby finished 2012 ranked 20th for the year among Tallahassee women in the 5K. She didn't make the top 25 for either 2013 or 2014, but Busby's 20:45 at the Firecracker 5K has her on the 2015 list, tied for 25th with Emily Molen.
Athletes still have at least one more chance during the summer months to better their standing on the lists. Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare For Life is hosting their inaugural Under The Stars 5K at 9:00 PM ET on Saturday evening at Deerlake Middle School in the Bradfordville area. Once summer is over, look forward to the Sickle Cell 5K on 12 September 2015, the Tallahassee Women's Distance Festival 5K on 19 September 2015, the Race For Readiness on 17 October 2015, another TMH For Life 5K on 24 October 2015, the Deer Run 5K on 7 November 2015, and the Tallahassee Turkey Trot 5K on 26 November 2015. We may be past the halfway point of 2015, but there's still a lot of racing before 1 January 2016.
