In Adel, all systems were glow for Pezent and Bewley

Cody Pezent competed in each of the first three annual Glow For Alpha Rho 5K road races. Pezent placed second in 2015's inaugural edition of the Adel, Georgia event, and he was third in 2016. Then on Friday evening, 10 March 2017, the Cook High cross-country runner won the third annual Glow For Alpha Rho 5K, running 19:46. For Valdosta, Georgia athlete Lauren Bewley, 2017 was her first time in the race, but Bewley nevertheless won the women's division, placing sixth overall in 23:28.


Valdosta's Dan Butzin ran 20:30 in the race, finishing runner-up for the second year in a row. Jordan Rowe of Adel was third in 22:08. Hahira, Georgia's Justin Naylor was the first master runner in the race and fourth overall in 22:21.


Trailing Bewley on the women's side, Whitney Pilgrim of Moultrie, Georgia was the second woman and eighth overall in 24:59. Adel's Angela Pezent was the first woman master and third female finisher, placing eleventh overall in 26:15.


47 athletes finished the 3.1-mile event. A Course/Line, LLC, of Valdosta, Georgia provided timing and finish line services for the 2017 Glow For Alpha Rho 5K.
