Tallahassee's top 15K road times in 2021

When it comes to 15K performances on USATF-certified courses in Tallahassee, Florida during 2021, the first one was the fastest one. Back on 17 January 2021, Jake Rogers, a sophomore on the Leon High cross-country team, outran everyone in the Gulf Winds Track Club 15K, including his frosh teammate, Patrick Koon, winning the race in 51:15. No one bettered that mark at Gulf Winds Track Club's Tallahassee Turkey Trot 15K, so Rogers' performance stands as Tallahassee's top 15K time of 2021.

Trevor Sununu's winning time at Turkey Trot, 51:59, ranks second, while Patrick Koon's 52:12 at the GWTC 15K is third. Mickey Moore posted Tallahassee's fastest 15K for the year by a male master runner, running 58:08 at Turkey Trot.


But the fastest time for a master runner overall was 56:29, the mark turned in by Dr. Katie Sherron in the Turkey Trot 15K on 25 November 2021. Sherron not only led the women in 2021, but you'd have to go back to 1988 to find a better performance. The 2020 women's leader, master runner Laura DiBella, was second on the women's list with the 61:53 she ran to win the GWTC 15K.

With vaccines on the way, it looks like road racing may return to Tallahassee in 2021, including 15K road races. The Gulf Winds Track Club 15K is already scheduled for 16 January 2021. Gulf Winds Track Club's next Tallahassee Turkey Trot 15K, should it happen, will be on 25 November 2021. Results from those races would be included in any 2021 rankings, as well as those from any other 15K meeting these criteria:

• The race has to be in Tallahassee (anywhere in Leon County is fine)
• The race has to be run on a USATF certified course
• The race has to have published results
• I have to see the results
