Tallahassee's top 5K road times in 2019 (through March 9)

March is almost over. There have already been six 5K races in Tallahassee on USATF-certified courses this year--the Bowlegs 5K, the TMH For Life Challenge 5K, the Trent 5K, the Run For The Cookies 5K, the Shamrock Scurry 5K, and the Big Bend Habitat For Humanity 5K. Yeah, it's probably time I did a list of Tallahassee top 5K road times for the first part of 2019.

The rankings are especially overdue when you consider that not much has changed up top since the first 5K of the year. The leading men's time is the 15:29 that Stan Linton posted at Gulf Winds Track Club's Bowlegs 5K Run For Scholarship back on 12 January 2019. Likewise, the leading women's time is the 17:59 that Ann Centner ran at that same event.


Myles Gibson leads the master runners with the 18:24 that he ran at--you guessed it--the Bowlegs 5K. The leading woman master, though, is Stephanie Liles-Weyant, who ran 20:51 at the Run For The Cookies 5K on 9 February 2019.

There are more than nine months left in 2019, and more than a few 5K races on USATF-certified courses in Tallahassee in 2019. Among those events are the Springtime 5K on 30 March 2019, the Chiles Wolf Dash 5K on 6 April 2019, the Palace Saloon 5K on 13 April 2019, the Florida High 5K on 20 April 2019, and the Nene Fest 5K on 27 April 2019.


For the rest of 2019, I'll be looking at those races and others that meet these criteria:

• The race has to be in Tallahassee (anywhere in Leon County is fine)
• The race has to be run on a USATF certified course
• The race has to have published results
• I have to see the results
